Bright New Ideas was selected among the top 32 teams of 1,200 entrants in this prestigious competition, and will be competing for a $3000 prize. Bright New Ideas has been selected as one of the top four finalists in the MN Cup Social Entrepreneurship Division. We will be presenting at the Engaged Philanthropy Conference, June 17, 2010. This represents a considerably achievement – Bright New Ideas beat out 52 other professionals in the Minnesota community to attain this status and has been given a preliminary award. This is an interview from Felix of Avecinia, Nicaragua – a gentleman who lives in a community without access to electricity. He and others in his community were recipients of Bright New Ideas solar lamps. Patrick of Bright New Ideas was able to talk with him and discuss the solar lamps using Skype – he had access in the city of Jinotega, Nicaragua about an hour from where he lives.
